My brothers and sisters, have we been proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom within our household, in our neighbourhood, at our workplace and with our friends? Are we supporting local and overseas missions? Until we complete the work, the end cannot come.

The followers of Christ have been given a great responsibility and privilege to carry the gospel to all. I used to think as you wrote…Christ wouldn’t return for the church (the rapture) until all had heard. After studying Revelation I changed my thought. In Rev. 14:6 if I understand correctly will have the eternal gospel to preach to all the world before the bowls of God’s wrath are poured out.
Also, the disciples believed Christ’s return could even be in their time. This by no means relinquishes us from the command to take the gospel to all. It’s still what we’re here to do. What do you think?

Hi! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Now I’m suddenly thinking what do I really believe, lol. Well, yes, just as what I wrote–when everyone has heard, then the Rapture will come (a divine event that would markedly signify the “end” even for non-believers). But I also believe that during the Tribulation people will still hear the Gospel, and some will still be saved–and this is the time (Jacob’s trouble) when the nation of Israel will acknowledge Jesus as Messiah and “invite” Him back (Zechariah 12:10). Then the Lord will descend on the Mt of Olives (Zechariah 14:4) on His Second Coming, and will begin the Millennial rule.
I believe when Jesus said “this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”–generation meant human race. And yes, I understand even the disciples believed Christ’s return could be in their time.
I hope I wasn’t confusing. But that’s the timeline in my head (Rapture, Tribulation, Second Coming, first resurrection, Millennium, another battle (Gog & Magog), second resurrection (Rev 20:13), new Heaven and earth. I need to read Revelation again, and the other books that mention the last days.
