Reading: Matthew 21:33-46

My friend, have you already believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah, coming to the world to set our standing with God right, and to establish His earthly kingdom where He will be governor of all the land–ruling it with righteousness and justice?

If we are not consciously making a choice to accept the statement above, we are making an unconscious (or deliberate) choice for the opposite. Either choice has an implication, of course.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:

“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.” – Matthew 21:42-44 (NIV)

The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.
The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.
Lord, save us!
Lord, grant us success!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the house of the Lord we bless you.
The Lord is God,
and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession
up to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you. – Psalm 118:22-28 (NIV)
