“Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 5:19
We have had teachers who imparted knowledge to us straight from a book. And we have had ones who were practitioners as well in the field—suddenly, the theories and concepts began to make sense.
I cannot teach what I do not practice. I need to walk the talk. And I don’t even have to be preachy. I just need to show by example. But confess I must—that the ability to do good works, to obey God’s commands, is only by the grace of God and the lordship of Jesus Christ in my life.
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:9-11
